- Moon Cha-min saves Shin Jae-rim from Ban Dan-a’s uncles and takes her home.
- Shin Jae-rim is seen fighting with Kang Hwa-jin. Following this, she leaves the house.
- Shin Jae-rim spends the night at her distant and poorly constructed childhood home.
- The next day, Shin Jae-rim ends up inviting Moon Cha-min to her childhood home.
- Given the chilly weather, Moon Cha-min takes Shin Jae-rim to his place.
- Shin Jae-rim and Moon Cha-min kiss yet again.
- Kang Hwa-jin asks Shin Jae-rim to return home. On the other hand, Moon Cha-min requests that she stay at his home.
The Episode Review
In episode 7 of Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale, Moon Cha-min and Shin Jae-rim appear to be growing closer. We learn that Moon Cha-min’s inability to trust women stems from the betrayal he has experienced in his past. Furthermore, Shin Jae-rim realizes that he is pushing her away due to his issues, and not because she is lacking in any way. This appears to help her character develop and become more self-aware.
The scene in which Shin Jae-rim and Moon Cha-min sit by the fireplace and he takes the lens of hatred from her is compelling. We see how she has been clouded by her own fears, which have held her back all along. She has been imagining problems that do not actually exist. Furthermore, Moon Cha-min displays the tenderness she has craved and pushed away her entire life. This scene is my favorite from the show so far because it is so profound when you think about it.
To be completely honest, Moon Cha-min is not a character that I particularly like. He seems to lack charisma, which makes his actions somewhat off-putting. However, I’ve come to root for his relationship with Shin Jae-rim. The show has a fantastic will they/won’t they plot which has kept me hooked. Since we are approaching the final episode, it will be interesting to see where the show goes from here.
