My Sweet Mobster: Episodes 3 & 4 Review

Modern Fairytale With A Twist

‘My Sweet Mobster’ represents every girl’s fairytale adapted to modern times and with a twist. It features a chivalrous and generous hero, Seo Ji-Hwan, who falls hard for a girl and slowly makes his way to her heart. What’s even more interesting are the layers to Seo Ji-Hwan. He comes from a thug family but chooses to stay away from crime and help other ex-cons mend their ways. He appears to be intimidating but is a literal cupcake at heart. Moreover, his attempts to pursue Ko Eun-Ha within his shy means make it cuter and add depth to his character.

A Warm And Fuzzy Relationship

The kdrama even has the ideal heroine in Ko Eun-Ha, a girl who loves to play with children and is extremely feminine, warm, motherly, and beautiful. She overthinks situations and is overly empathetic and compassionate, taking the blame on behalf of the milk company and caring for the children as if it were her own fault. The mix of all the attributes of the two characters makes this a very warm and fuzzy relationship to follow and is going to sit extremely well with fans. You can expect the show to capture many more beautiful moments like the one in the park.

New Potential Romance: Ju Il-Yeong And Moon Ji-In

While dropping Ko Eun-Ha home, Ju Il-Yeong and Moon Ji-In have an interesting moment of eye contact, which probably suggests we will have another couple to ship this season. Ju Il-Yeong himself is a very thoughtful person and a perfect wingman, teaching Seo Ji-Hwan a thing or two about relationships. In contrast to Seo Ji-Hwan, he is rather outgoing and likes to be a lot bolder yet subtle.

The Twist: Childhood Friend Jang Hyeon-Woo

The twist in the love story is Ko Eun-Ha’s childhood friend. the show depicts how much Ko Eun-Ha values and misses the one friend who protected and took care of her when everything was falling apart. You can even feel the second-hand nostalgia. The friend she thinks about is Jang Hyeon-Woo, and she finally finds him after a long search in episode 4. Now the interrelationships between the three complicate things between them and this will certainly get in the way of Seo Ji-Hwan and Ko Eun-Ha’s relationship, but this will make a great plot to follow!

Show Rating: 9 / 10
