Beauty And Mr. Romantic: Episodes 27 & 28 Review

In episodes 27 and 28 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic, Park Do-ra discovers she is Park Do-ra, not Ji-young. Following this revelation, her relationship with Pil-seung gets turbulent.

We also see Pil-seung’s biological mother, Soo-yeon, getting more involved in his life. By the end of this weekend’s episodes, it’s clear that Pil-seung and his family will discover that Soo-yeon is his biological mother.

• When Do-ra confronts Pil-seung about knowing who she was all along, he attempts to explain the reasons behind his decision.
• Do-ra ends her relationship with Pil-seung because she cannot believe he would hide the truth from her.
• Mi-ja and Do-sik tell Do-joon about finding Do-ra, and he is taken aback but thrilled to see her.
• Do-ra’s dream brings back memories of losing her father.
• Jin-dan tries to get Yi-young fired from the new drama but learns that she has broken up with Pil-seung.
• Pil-seung assures Do-ra that he will always be there for her and that he will wait for her.
• After Jin-dan constantly pursues and apologizes to Tae-hee, she seems to forgive him.
• On the set of the new drama, a wall is about to fall on Pil-seung. However, Soo-yeon tries to help him, and both of them are injured.

Episodes 27 & 28 Review

Positives

In episodes 27 and 28 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic, we witness the aftermath of Do-ra learning the truth about herself. The kdrama has always done an excellent job of keeping the audience interested in the storyline, and this weekend’s episodes are no exception.

We experience an emotional rollercoaster throughout this weekend’s episodes. This kdrama has a reputation for doing that to viewers. You can’t expect pleasant moments to last long with this show because it constantly keeps you on your toes. However, that is also part of the show’s appeal, as it manages to keep you invested in the storyline, leaving you wondering what will happen next week.

The kdrama has also done an excellent job of presenting us with mostly well-rounded characters. Although Mi-ja and Soo-yeon’s characters can be quite frustrating to watch, you eventually come to sympathize with them. Mi-ja is clearly a narcissist, but you still feel for her loss, which is a sign of incredible character building.

Negatives

One of the major flaws in Beauty and Mr. Romantic is the unrealistic twists. At first, there was the amnesia and body transformation storyline. At present, it’s the fact that Do-ra looks exactly like she always has, except for her hair. Her family’s inability to tell is simply bizarre, and it cannot be taken seriously.

While plot twists are fantastic, going too far can be problematic, especially if the storyline appears illogical. This is currently the case with Beauty and Mr. Romantic. The kdrama was initially doing well. However, once the amnesia storyline was introduced, things became far too bizarre to take the show seriously. However, even after that, the plot began to improve significantly. That said, Do-ra’s current actions do not make sense. This is true especially because she has seen how awful Mi-ja has been. Still, trusting her over Pil-seung makes no sense. As a consequence, this plotline appears quite forced.

Overall, Beauty and Mr. Romantic continues to captivate us, making it a drama worth watching for those who enjoy unexpected twists and deep character arcs. I’ve enjoyed this show and have looked forward to new episodes each week. However, I must admit that some plotlines are too strange for them to be taken seriously. That said, the ending credits hint to us that Pil-seung and his family may learn that Soo-yeon is his biological mother. This storyline in particular promises more intrigue. So, it will be interesting to see where the kdrama goes next.
