As the credits roll, Beauty and Mr. Romantic teases us with glimpses of Pil-seung speaking with Soo-yeon. Jin-taek also asks Sun-young about what happened between her and his wife. It will be interesting to see if Jin-taek learns that Pil-seung is Soo-yeon’s biological son. Furthermore, will he leave Soo-yeon after discovering the truth? We’ll have to wait and find out. Highlights Of Episode 29
- Pil-seung’s family witnesses Soo-yeon taking Pil-seung’s name while unconscious in the hospital bed.
- Soo-yeon and Ma-ri go to Hyeon-cheol’s new restaurant. As they leave the restaurant, Geum-ja overhears them talking about Pil-seung as Soo-yeon’s son.
- Do-sik attacks a colleague who criticizes his sister Do-ra’s past. As a result, he is arrested.
- Mi-ja asks Do-ra to perform in a bar to raise funds to compensate Do-sik’s colleague and get him out of jail. However, this move almost cost Do-ra her role in the drama.
- Geum-ja decides to go about with a DNA test for Ma-ri and Pil-seung, which confirms that Pil-seung is Soo-yeon’s biological son.
- Geum-ja then informs Myeong-dong and Hyeon-cheol about the same. However, to protect Sun-young’s sanity, the three of them decide to keep their findings hidden.
- When Soo-yeon sends gifts for Pil-seung’s birthday, it’s the final straw, and Sun-young discovers that Soo-yeon is Pil-seung’s biological mother.
- Following this, Sun-young visits Soo-yeon and slaps her.

- Sun-young and Geum-ja confront Soo-yeon for deceiving them for so long, given that she is Pil-seung’s biological mother.
- Sun-young struggles to accept that her best friend, Soo-yeon, is Pil-seung’s biological mother.
- When Sun-young and Geum-ja pull Soo-yeon’s hair outside her house, Ae-kyo spots them. The news quickly spreads to Soo-yeon’s family, who are left wondering what might have caused the attack.
- Ji-young softens up to Pil-seung again after learning that he saved her from getting fired from her role.
- Mi-ja continues to badmouth Pil-seung and warns Ji-young against dating him.
- Jin-dan becomes suspicious when he sees Ji-young with Mi-ja together and discovers that they live in the same house.
- Soo-yeon pays a visit to Sun-young’s home to apologize and assure her that she will annul the contract with Pil-seung after wrapping up the series.

Episodes 29 & 30 Review
Positives
The K-drama Beauty and Mr. Romantic, as usual, keeps us interested in its plotline. The plot twists in episodes 29 & 30 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic were extremely captivating, and they kept you hooked throughout. Sun-young and her family discovered that Soo-yeon is Pil-seung’s biological mother, which was a very interesting development.
The show also did an excellent job of presenting us with the perspectives of both Soo-yeon and Sun-young until now. As a consequence, you can sympathize with both of them throughout episodes 29 & 30 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic.
Negatives
While the show has many strengths, it also has some flaws. For starters, it seems like Pil-seung and Ji-young/Do-ra’s storylines are being sidelined to some extent. Since most of us are curious about their will-they/won’t-they situation and whether Do-ra will regain her memories, the plotline is moving painfully slowly.
While the show has made Soo-yeon a sympathetic character, doing so does not feel particularly justified. This is especially true because we don’t understand her reasoning. If the show went into that, we’d have a lot more context to work with. However, given the show’s current focus on that plot point, we might soon learn why she abandoned Pil-seung.
Our Verdict
Overall, episodes 29 & 30 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic are full of surprising turns and emotional revelations that keep viewers entertained. Finding out that Soo-yeon is Pil-seung’s real mother makes the story more complex and interesting, drawing viewers deeper into the drama.
Some fans may have wanted more from Pil-seung and Ji-young/Do-ra’s storyline, but Soo-yeon and Sun-young’s struggles are masterfully portrayed in this weekend’s episodes. As the show continues to show how these complicated connections work, it promises to hold the attention of viewers.
